CWA Local 9413 is part of the Communications Workers of America, representing working people and advocating for fair wages, strong benefits, safe working conditions, job security, and a meaningful voice on the job. Based in Sparks, Nevada, Local 9413 has a long history of representing workers across a diverse range of industries. From telecommunications and healthcare to public services and other essential work, our members share a common goal: building stronger workplaces through collective action and solidarity.

Local 9413 brings together workers from a variety of industries and professions. While our workplaces and job titles may be different, our members are united by the belief that every worker deserves dignity, respect and a voice in the decisions that affect their livelihood. Through collective bargaining, workplace representation, organizing and member involvement, we work to protect the rights of our members and build better workplaces for current and future generations.

Deep Roots. A Growing Reach.

CWA Local 9413 has deep roots in Nevada’s labor movement, with a history that stretches back generations. The Local traces part of its history to Local 65 of the International Typographical Union, one of Nevada’s early labor organizations, which later became part of the Communications Workers of America. As industries and communities have changed, Local 9413 has evolved with them. What began with strong roots in Nevada has grown to include workers and communities across Nevada and California, expanding beyond its printing and communications origins into telecommunications, healthcare, public services, and other industries.
